Value Engineering Approach to Evaluate the Agricultural Drainage Water Management Strategies

چکیده

Excessive irrigating water that has not been adequately drained may cause more to enter the crop root zone than is necessary. As a result, issues with increasing table levels, waterlogging, and salinity get worse productivity losses. Agricultural drainage management strategies (ADWMS) can be used protect quality of groundwater, guarantee crops have better moisture conditions, provide irrigation by reusing agricultural using sub-irrigation practices. In order decrease effects poor drainage, mitigate climate change, conserve environment, achieve food security, this study proposes framework for choosing most effective ADWMS in Egypt’s Nile Delta as well new lands. The value engineering approach ensure strategy’s functionality present some innovation process developing alternative solutions are financially evaluated life cycle cost technique. According results, strategy (ADWMS-3) prioritizes improving effectiveness, controlling groundwater rise, providing another source while maintaining environmental protection. This encompasses use control system, timing fertilizer application, regulating variation, ADWMS-3 achieves highest values technical score 8.06 index 18.59. advances understanding topic policymakers tool (i) evaluate (ii) incorporate added into their policies regarding water.

Evaluate the performance of subsurface drainage to control water level and salinity in agricultural lands of hamidieh based on RGWD and SEI

The research in the fields of irrigation and drainage network in the province Hamidieh to evaluate the performance of drainage was done in the land. For this purpose, three drainage server farm at intervals of 50, 70 and 80 meters in the area was selected. Blank observation on three drain pipes at intervals of 0.3,0.8,1.5,2.5 and 15 meters of lateral drains in the middle of the line in four row...

Improving West African rice production with agricultural water management strategies

The populations of West African countries continue to grow at rates exceeding three per cent per year. The international food price spike of 2008 focused attention on the risks to national security and livelihoods associated with importing significant quantities of food; and government and donor investment strategies now focus on ensuring national food security. Since rice is a key staple crop ...

Drainage water management for water quality protection

l and drainage has been central to the development of North America since colonial times, with the first organized drainage efforts occurring as early as the 1600s (Evans et al. 1996). Drainage has been encouraged to improve public highways, reduce public health risks, promote increased crop yield and reduced yield variability, reduce surface runoff and erosion, and increase land value. Agricul...

Factor Affecting the Sustainable Management of Agricultural Water

The main purpose of the study was to investigate the factors affecting the sustainable management of agricultural water in Hamedan. The study population included all wheat farmers possessing irrigated farms in Hamedan city (N=1800). Of these farmers a sample of 317 people has been selected by using randomized multi-stage sampling method. The data were collected through a questionnaire's tool wi...

The impact of agricultural management practices on nutrient losses to water: data on the effects of soil drainage characteristics.

Against the background of increasing nutrient concentrations in Irish water bodies, this study set out to gain information on the potential of agricultural grassland to lose nutrients to water. Overland flow, flow from artificial subsurface drains and stream flow were gauged and sampled during heavy rainfall events. Dissolved reactive phosphorus (DRP), potassium (K), total ammonia (TA), and tot...
